Aileen and Patrick are a cool, colorful, and deeply loving couple. To create a one-of-a-kind experience for their friends and family, they partnered with Liza from Studio DBI. Together, they decided to begin the day with a traditional ceremony at St. Ignatius church, followed by a reception at The Pearl, an ultra-urban venue in San Francisco’s up-and-coming Dogpatch area.
During an in-depth consultation with the couple, we uncovered their desire to use seasonal, locally grown flowers and strike a balance between masculine and feminine looks. To hit the right notes and further define the couple’s edgy yet beautiful vibe, we developed a comprehensive floral mockup in the studio at Wish.
Working as a team, we selected highly textured blooms that captured Aileen and Patrick’s distinctly downtown style. By selecting flowers in shades of deep burgundy, ruby red and dusty rose, we both softened and strengthened The Pearl’s concrete industrial elements. Our dahlias popped against the cool blue linens, which perfectly echoed the transitional feeling of the party’s August evening air.
One year after their nuptials, the couple made their way back to Wish—this time so Patrick could surprise his wife with a remake of her bouquet. One look at her face and we could have sworn their wedding was only yesterday.
